Creator Economy Opportunities | Mid Month Opps

Every month I share opportunities, things we're working on in the creator economy and ways to engage.

Happy Friday all! Welcome to the mid-week newsletter. For everyone who is new, this one is a quick roundup — mid month, shorter, more actionable with opportunities in the creator + progressive space, news updates, resources and more. If it gives you value, let me know & share it with someone you think would benefit!

  • [TALENT AGENCIES] I’m always talking about the importance of talent agencies and how important it is to build relationships with folks. A few months ago, Beacons released a talent agency list. Check it out here and make sure to use it as a guide for building those relationships.

Creator Economy News:

  • Last month it was Instagram, now it’s TikTok with ad free social media. TikTok is the second to give it a try — testing out a $4.99/m subscription. This not only signals a big move for the social media giant, but may also continue to drive more importance towards investing in trusted messengers. Read more here.

  • As the conversation around AI heightens, a number of celebrities are warning audiences about the dangers of deepfakes. Read more in The Washington Post.

  • Creator companies continue to see more traction with Mr Beast’s company Feastables becoming a jersey patch partner to the Charlotte Hornets. Read more here.

  • Everyone is paying attention to the creator economy. Read a little bit about the Democrats plan to engage Twitch streamers and why President Biden is the biggest content creator there is. Read the article here.

  • Harvard is entering the creator space with #MentalHealth content collaborations. Read more about their work and research in the space here.

  • Substack has figured out a workaround to adding headings on X posts after Elon Musk removed headlines from links that were shared. Check it out here and see how their title appears in the image itself.

  • The President of the United States is down to collab — read more about various ways the administration has been engaging creators in the Washington Post.

Trends:

Every week, Abby on our team puts together a list of trending sounds on TikTok for you to test out. Here’s some:

TREND 1: I'm So Hungry I Could Eat At Arby's: Lip sync audio and state a situation where you felt so strongly about something, you'd go beyond your limit to do it (can be used in various scenarios!) + add text

TREND 2: Computer Typing Sound: State a situation where you could give someone A LOT of answers or reasons to their question + add text

TREND 3: What Can I Say: Lip sync audio and state a question someone asked you that made you go "What can I say?" + add text

Just some audios to get you creating!

If you made it all this way - thank you! For reading, trusting creators and me. I'm building Social Currant to make an impact and you all are a part of this journey. Until the end of the month!
